KRUPP VINEYARD
Krupp Vineyard is where it all began for the Krupp family. With the purchase of 41 acres in the Atlas Peak appellation in 1991, Dr. Jan Krupp took his first step into the wine industry. There are four varietals planted on Krupp Vineyard: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Tempranillo. The coolest of the three vineyards, Krupp Vineyard provides the perfect terroir for the early-ripening Merlot, Tempranillo, and Malbec.
A later ripening variety, Cabernet Sauvignon dominates the higher elevations of this vineyard, receiving greater warmth which allows this varietal to ripen fully. This Cabernet Sauvignon provides firm, yet silky tannin structure to the wines from Krupp Vineyard.
Grapes for The Doctor, Veraison Merlot, and Joshua Tempranillo are sourced exclusively from this vineyard.
