THE VINEYARDS

Stagecoach Vineyard, Krupp Vineyard, and Krupp Brothers Vineyard are all mountain vineyards located in the eastern mountains above Napa Valley, overlooking Oakville. The intense terroir of rocky, thin soils is ideal for world class wine grapes. All vineyards are farmed using a sustainable approach.

This strategy focuses on a minimum of pesticides, fertilizers, and water. In addition, there is a permanent cover crop to minimize erosion. The undulating, varied terrain contained in the three vineyards creates various mesoclimates and soil conditions that are distinctively suited to the 13 different varietals grown on the properties. (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Chardonnay, Marsanne, Viognier, Tempranillo, Sangiovese and Zinfandel.)

In addition to the 13 varietals, we have 16 different selections, or clones, of Cabernet Sauvignon and multiple clones of our other varietals which together provide a diverse palette from which our winemaker can create intriguing wines. The individual clusters of small, intense mountain berries are hand-picked and carefully destemmed into small vessels.

Each lot of grapes is thoughtfully matched to select barrels. Krupp Brothers is committed to creating wines of concentrated flavor, superior complexity, and a refined elegance from their own estates each and every vintage.
